Are you aged 18-25?

Do you live in West Dunbartonshire?

Are you interested in being part of a new, BOLD film based project that utilises sculpture, performance and community participation!?

If so, BRIGHT ORCHESTRA LOUD DIAMOND may be just the thing you are looking for!!

What is it?

Have you ever been going about your daily life, when something unknown, something unusual, something curious suddenly enters into your life and makes you question your perception of the world around you, even making you question yourself?

How did you deal with it? Did you embrace it? Did you try and reject it? Did you bury your heads in the sand? Did you fear it? Did you turn your back on the unknown-ness of it all?

This idea, and these questions are the basis of BRIGHT ORCHESTRA LOUD DIAMOND.

The work explores ideas of BOLDNESS and how boldness can lead to DISRUPTION and CULTURAL SHIFTS. It also explores how these ideas resonate with young adults, especially those who live in West Dunbartonshire. It looks at community, and the ways in which communities respond to change, and how as groups of people living alongside each other, we deal with (or don't deal with) entities that enter into our lives out of the blue.

This new mixed media arts project will be starting in Spring 2026, and will have its premiere in Spring 2027.

Who is it for?

We are looking to recruit 3 young adults to join our core team. You will be engaged in the creation of the work from the start through to the finish. There will be opportunities to work with storytelling, performance, sculpture and film making.

No experience is necessary, and you will be guided by a team of professional artists throughout the project. We just ask that you come with an urge to be creative and to be open minded to working with others.

How will it work?

Based on a weekly meet up between April and July, and a production shoot in July/August, we will work together to co-create the content of this ambitious community project from storyboarding all the way through to production. The specific dates/times are to be confirmed but will be negotiated by members of the creative team once everyone is recruited.

What's the offer?

This is a voluntary participation call out, and is unpaid. Recruited young adult participants will be credited as co-creators of the project and will be offered an honorarium of £500 for their time spent on the shoot in July/August 2026.

How do I apply?

We are looking for expressions of interest to be sent to contact@hydraarts.org by Friday 20th February 2026 at 5pm. These can be sent as a single side of A4, a 5 minute video, or a 5 minute voice note explaining why you would like to be part of this project.

We will be in touch on Monday 23rd February with an update about your application.

This project is made possible with generous funding from Creative Scotland.
